Melody Richt, Licensed Aesthetician, Grows with CFR in New Role

Over the past 10 years at Center for Facial Rejuvenation, we have had the pleasure of having Melody Richt, Licensed Aestetician, work with clients like you to help them achieve their beauty goals. We are thrilled to share that Melody will continue to work and grow with CFR in an exciting new announcement:

Over the past 10 years at Center for Facial Rejuvenation, I have had the pleasure of working with clients like you to help them achieve their beauty goals. It has been a wonderful experience and I want to express my deepest appreciation for your commitment and continued support of me during my time at CFR so far.

I am excited to announce that I have taken on a new multi-faceted role within our practice. I will continue to provide Aesthetic/Laser services, but will also be spearheading all planning and implementation of a wide range of events for CFR. It is my ultimate goal to offer a variety of educational luncheons, product workshops and quarterly savings events that everyone is welcome to attend! To keep up to date on new and upcoming events, follow us on Facebook, Instagram, or check out our promotions page on our website: www.chattanoogaface.com!

While I’m looking forward to spending more time in this new role at CFR, unfortunately, due to an ongoing physical limitation, I have made the decision to retire from Permanent Cosmetics. As you can imagine, this has not been an easy decision as this has been a great passion of mine for almost 17 years. I’m very proud of the work I’ve done thus far and am looking forward to providing clients with aesthetic and laser services in a new capacity.

Thank you again for all of your continued support. I am excited to move forward with this new opportunity, where I will continue to pursue my passion for medical aesthetics in my new role!

The first event I’ll be working on is a milestone for CFR and is right around the corner on April 25, 2019. Our practice is celebrating our 10 year anniversary and we’re inviting our clients and their friends to join us for food, drinks, demos, and a chance to participate in our Gift Card Savings Program. I hope to see you there!

Sincerely,

Melody Richt

Everything You Need to Know About the VI Peel (From Someone Who’s Had it Done and is a Licensed Aesthetician and Laser Specialist)

By now, you’ve likely heard of or know someone who has had a chemical peel. They’re best known for eliminating the dull and damaged top layer of your skin revealing smoother, more youthful looking skin. However, some chemical peels can be harsh and result in a lot of downtime. Luckily, not all peels are the same! We’re pleased to share the VI Peel-A New Generation Peel. It is one of the safest and most effective chemical peels for a range of skin types (like those with more sensitive skin) and the results are fantastic.

Recently, CFR’s Licensed Aesthetician and Laser Specialist, Christie Dean, had the VI Peel treatment and shared a bit about her experience:

Question: What is the VI peel?

Christie: The VI Peel is a formula consisting of a blend of powerful ingredients that helps improve skin tone, texture and clarity. It softens fine lines and wrinkles, and restores a more even skin tone by reducing age spots and sun damage. This peel is sub-dermal which means it peels more than just the top layer giving the client “baby skin”. It “peels” away surface damage and lightens underneath damage. In addition, it contains ingredients that address most of my clients concerns. It improves texture by smoothing away rough skin to reveal a more youthful, glowing complexion.

Question: Why do clients choose to have the VI Peel treatment?

Christie: Most people come to me with the unfortunate signs of aging and UV damage. The VI Peel is my gold standard go-to peel because it is formulated with agents that address those concerns.

Question: What made you want to try the VI peel?

Christie: I was looking to have the VI Peel for a few reasons, the largest being that I wanted to achieve a more even skin complexion overall and combat signs of aging (those pesky fine lines and dark spots!) As a Licensed Aesthetician and Laser Specialist, I’m familiar with many different chemical peels, and after researching more about the VI Peel when it was first introduced, it was clear that it is a new generation peel that self-neutralizes and contains ingredients that numb the skin. If I promote a product or service I try it first, and if I like it I stand behind it!

Question: What was the whole experience like?

Christie: It actually is a relatively quick treatment with amazing results. The treatment takes approximately 30 minutes and it’s virtually pain free!

Question: Tell us about after the treatment and the results!

Christie: After the treatment, the process takes anywhere from 5-7 days from the peel application to completion. As with any chemical peel, the peeling process can be different each time for each client.  It can be a large exfoliation to a flaking peel. Most of the time it’s a large exfoliating experience but again, everyone is different! Once the process is complete, skin is soft and supple with a beautiful, youthful glow.

Day 3 of the VI Peel Process / actual client

Day 7 of the VI Peel Process /actual client/ unfiltered-natural glow

Question: How often do you have this treatment?

Christie: I do the VI Peel every 6 months to address aging concerns.

Question: Who’s a good candidate for the VI Peel?

Christie: The VI Peel is much more gentle than some of the alternatives, so a variety of skin types may be candidates for this peel, however, I recommend a consultation first. That way, we can look at your skin, discuss the look you’re trying to achieve, and create a treatment plan based on that.

Question: How many treatments is typical to maintain?

Christie: It really depends on the client’s primary concerns. I typically recommend at least one per year, but quarterly may be recommended if addressing a particular issue.

If you’re interested in learning more about the VI Peel, give us a call and come in for a complementary consultation! You have nothing to lose but signs of aging!

Lines around Mouth + Marionette Lines

One of the unfortunate signs of aging is increased skin laxity. Lines from the nose to the mouth and marionette lines will stand out more as skin loses its elasticity. Restylane® Defyne is crafted with XpresHAn TechnologyTM to add volume to deepened lines in your face. Similar to Restylane® Refyne, this dermal filler also uses a unique cross-linking technology in its gel to create natural-looking results and natural facial movements.

Younger Looking and Smoother Skin with BroadBand Light (BBL)

What is BBL and why do people choose it?

BBL, BroadBand Light, is an innovative technology that uniquely delivers light therapy targeting the signs of aging and sun damage and effectively provides a more refreshed, rejuvenated and youthful appearance.

BBL treats a wide variety of conditions. For skin rejuvenation,  BBL removes age spots, freckles, redness, small vessels and more. BBL can also be used to reduce unwanted hair and control active acne. The best part? There is little to no downtime and the long-term benefits are amazing.

Why do people choose BBL?
The answer is two-fold. First, there are several reasons why a client chooses BBL treatments. The most common reasons a client is looking for a solution is due to:

  • Excessive sun exposure (active lifestyle)
  • Uneven skin tone and textures
  • Pigmentation (freckles, age spots)
  • Broken Capillaries
  • Rosacea
  • Bruising
  • Acne Issues
  • Hair Reduction

The second is all about the stunning results!

BBL Results

The results from BBL treatment(s) can be dramatic!

There have been several extensive studies and research into BBL treatments and the results. It not only promotes youthful looking skin by preventing cellular aging, but it also causes DNA expression of skin cells to reverse back to a healthy state.

How Many Treatments is in a Typical Treatment Plan?

The answer really depends on the client’s skin condition and goals. Typically, though, 4 treatments are needed. Once the goal is achieved, clients are known to come back 2 – 4 times a year for maintenance treatments.

Is BBL Right for Me?

It may be! If you have any of the above conditions or frustrations, we recommend you come in for a free consultation. We can evaluate your skin and then develop a treatment plan to achieve your goals. Call us today to start looking and feeling your best!

Choosing the Right Lip Filler for You (and Just in Time for Valentine’s Day!)

Written by: Kathy York, Nurse Practitioner and Lacy Gill, Nurse Injector

February 14th is a little over a month away, and now’s the time when clients start thinking about giving their pout a little love to get those kissable Valentine’s Day lips.

The reason that our clients come in for consultations or maintenance varies. Some clients simply have naturally thin lips and just want to achieve a fuller appearance, while others have noticed their lips thinning over time and may also have seen vertical lip lines become more noticeable. Whatever your reason, we have a wide range of lip injection options to help you achieve your perfect pout.

Natural Looking Results

Volbella & Refyne:
Volbella and Refyne are ideal to fill fine lip lines and add subtle volume, as its spreadable gel creates a youthful, smooth look. Many clients choose Volbella and Refyne to restore the natural look they once had. Other clients who are new to lip injections opt for Volbella or Refyne, as it allows them to start exploring what pout they’re looking to achieve (natural versus more plump) gradually.

This CFR client’s treatment was 1 syringe of Volbella.

Fuller Looking Results

Juvéderm® Ultra Plus & Defyne:
Juvéderm® Ultra Plus and Defyne adds more fullness and plumps thin lips. Many clients who have naturally thin lips, have had their lips thin over time, or those who want a fuller lip prefer Juvéderm® Ultra Plus and Defyne.

This CFR client’s treatment was 1 Syringe of Juvéderm® using the “ribbon technique”.
This CFR client’s treatment was 1 Syringe of Juvéderm® Ultra Plus in the lips and 1 Syringe of Volbella for the lines.
This CFR client’s treatment was 1 Syringe of Juvéderm® Ultra Plus in the lips.

Deciding which is best for you:
We understand that there are many filler options, and selecting the right one for the look you’d like to achieve can be tough! That’s why our skilled injectors are here to help. We offer complimentary consultation so you can meet our team, discuss your desired results, and learn more about your options. To book, call us at .

Prepping, Treatment, and Healing/Recovery:
Before your treatment its best to avoid alcohol and NSAIDS/aspirin for one week, if possible, as this may minimize bruising.

During your treatment, you may request to have topical lidocaine numbing cream applied, which stays on for about 10 minutes to help relieve any minor discomfort. Depending on how many syringes are administered, each appointment ranges between 30-45 minutes.

As with any injection treatment, after, there is the possibility of temporary swelling, tenderness and bruising. However, at CFR, we are always looking for ways to improve our client’s experience and outcomes with the latest innovations and technology. It is for this reason that we have added the AccuVein vein visualization technology, commonly used in hospitals, to help improve our aesthetic procedures by providing better vein visibility (which means there’s an even smaller chance of bruising!)

We advise that you plan your treatment 2 weeks ahead of any events or vacations.

Results are FDA indicated to last approximately 9-12 months.

While we can’t stop the aging process, I love to have conversations with women about aging gracefully and with dignity. Research has shown a direct correlation between body image and psychological well-being, and it is my belief that women can be more confident and look more beautiful as we age!”

Leveraging AccuVein Technology to Further Reduce Bruising after Injecting

At Center for Facial Rejuvenation, we are dedicated to safe practices and always educate patients on what to expect during and after their injectable appointment, including the possibility of temporary bruising. While most aesthetic practices also follow this same best practice, we continually look for ways to improve out client’s experience and outcomes with the latest innovations and technology. It is for this reason that we have added the AccuVein vein visualization technology, commonly used in hospitals, to help improve our aesthetic procedures by providing better vein visibility (that means there’s an even smaller chance of bruising!)

At CFR, we have the AccuVein AV400, a non-contact, lightweight, portable vein illumination device. It provides a visual road map of the client’s vasculature (aka, blood vessels) on the surface of the skin where injectable like BOTOX® are used. The ability to visualize a client’s unique anatomy helps us avoid veins by refining injection placement to minimize bruising during injectable procedures.

We are able to achieve superior results for our clients because of our extensive experience and participation in continuing education, but, with the addition of the AccuVein technology, we’re able to be even more precise and continue to set the bar for Fillers and BOTOX® results in Chattanooga.

When it comes to cosmetic enhancements, choose our highly experienced team of skilled Injectors, and the technology that helps improve your recovery time and results even more. Call us today to start looking and feeling your best!

Jawline Contouring without Liposuction with Kybella®

Many women and men are frustrated by a less-than-defined jawline, also known as a “double chin”, and are looking for a non-invasive solution to achieve a more chiseled profile. When our clients have moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat), we often recommend the injectable Kybella® to help reduce the appearance of the “second chin”.

The active ingredient in Kybella® is deoxycholic acid, a naturally-occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of submental body fat.

When injected into the fat beneath the chin, Kybella® causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat, and local collagen production increases. This is how clients get the jowl / jawline contour without liposuction!

At Center for Facial Rejuvenation, our Treat to Complete package (the full treatment!) of Kybella® is $1,900. While retreatment with Kybella® is not expected after a desired appearance is achieved, clients sometimes opt to use filler in the jawline, like Defyne, in addition to Kybella®, to give optimal outcomes.

When it comes to jawline definition enhancements, choose our highly experienced team of skilled Injectors—their results speak for themselves!

Achieving the Perfect Brow with BOTOX®

In the last few years, eyebrows have found themselves in the middle of aesthetic attention with permanent and semi-permanent makeup services like microblading, tattooing, and the powder-brow technique to create a more full, defined or prominent brow.

While your brows may be full, as you age, you begin to naturally lose collagen in your face, resulting in a loss of firmness and the appearance of “drooping” skin. This is often most notable in the eyebrow and eye area, and clients are looking for a quick and easy option to turn back the clock for a more youthful look.

While some clients choose to have a surgical brow lift, others choose for a less invasive solution with a more speedy recovery time with BOTOX®.

BOTOX® can accomplish many of the same things that a surgical brow lift, as it treats frown lines between your brows and can elevate the height of your eyebrows to create a more feminine arch. This not only enhances the way your eyebrow shape looks, but it allows your forehead muscles to lift and open up the eyes.

How it works: By injecting BOTOX®, it relaxes the underlying muscles to smooth the skin on the outside and relax the muscles, like between your brows (where those pesky frown lies are!) Once these muscles are relaxed, the forehead muscles above can lift them, resulting in an elevated brow.

Some clients also add BOTOX® near the ends of their brows to lift the area as well, achieving a similar look and feel that some experience from a full surgical brow lift.

If you’re considering a BOTOX® brow lift, choose the center with highly experienced Injectors who minimize the possibility of bruising even more with AccuVein technology. Call us today to start looking and feeling your best!

Client Above: Brow lift with BOTOX® helps lift brows and open up the eyes.

Client Above: Stunning BOTOX® results on this beauty using the proper injection technique.

Client Above: BOTOX® for brow lift, 1 Juvéderm® Voluma in cheeks, 1 Juvéderm® Ultra Plus in lips.
