Leveraging AccuVein Technology to Further Reduce Bruising after Injecting

At Center for Facial Rejuvenation, we are dedicated to safe practices and always educate patients on what to expect during and after their injectable appointment, including the possibility of temporary bruising. While most aesthetic practices also follow this same best practice, we continually look for ways to improve out client’s experience and outcomes with the latest innovations and technology. It is for this reason that we have added the AccuVein vein visualization technology, commonly used in hospitals, to help improve our aesthetic procedures by providing better vein visibility (that means there’s an even smaller chance of bruising!)

At CFR, we have the AccuVein AV400, a non-contact, lightweight, portable vein illumination device. It provides a visual road map of the client’s vasculature (aka, blood vessels) on the surface of the skin where injectable like BOTOX® are used. The ability to visualize a client’s unique anatomy helps us avoid veins by refining injection placement to minimize bruising during injectable procedures.

We are able to achieve superior results for our clients because of our extensive experience and participation in continuing education, but, with the addition of the AccuVein technology, we’re able to be even more precise and continue to set the bar for Fillers and BOTOX® results in Chattanooga.

When it comes to cosmetic enhancements, choose our highly experienced team of skilled Injectors, and the technology that helps improve your recovery time and results even more. Call us today to start looking and feeling your best!

Jawline Contouring without Liposuction with Kybella®

Many women and men are frustrated by a less-than-defined jawline, also known as a “double chin”, and are looking for a non-invasive solution to achieve a more chiseled profile. When our clients have moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat), we often recommend the injectable Kybella® to help reduce the appearance of the “second chin”.

The active ingredient in Kybella® is deoxycholic acid, a naturally-occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of submental body fat.

When injected into the fat beneath the chin, Kybella® causes the destruction of fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat, and local collagen production increases. This is how clients get the jowl / jawline contour without liposuction!

At Center for Facial Rejuvenation, our Treat to Complete package (the full treatment!) of Kybella® is $1,900. While retreatment with Kybella® is not expected after a desired appearance is achieved, clients sometimes opt to use filler in the jawline, like Defyne, in addition to Kybella®, to give optimal outcomes.

When it comes to jawline definition enhancements, choose our highly experienced team of skilled Injectors—their results speak for themselves!

“For so long, society has perpetuated the idea that youth is the only answer, and that a woman’s worth is directly tied to her age. But advances in nutrition, healthcare and medicine mean people live longer, healthier lives. While we can’t stop the aging process, I love to have conversations with women about aging gracefully and with dignity. Research has shown a direct correlation between body image and psychological well-being, and it is my belief that women can be more confident and look more beautiful as we age!”

Frequently Asked Questions: Kybella®

What is Kybella®?

KYBELLA (deoxycholic acid) injection is the first and only FDA-approved injectable treatment that is used in adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat), also called, “double chin.”

What areas can be treated with Kybella®?

Kybella® is used to treat areas of stubborn fat below the chin, double chin. Using Kybella® for the treatment of fat outside the submental area is not approved or recommended.

Are there any off-label uses for Kybella®? If so, are they safe?

It is not recommended to use Kybella® in other areas such as love handles, waist line or fat on the abdomen considering the liability risk it carries if someone has an adverse reaction to the treatment.

Kybella® vs. liposuction for double chin? Which would you recommend and what is the difference?

The biggest draw to Kybella® is that it is a series of minor injections with no downtime vs going under the knife which is a more aggressive approach, will require downtime and is more expensive.

What is recovery like for Kybella® injections?

Other than some mild swelling, there is no downtime and you can resume daily activities.

How long do results from Kybella® injections last?

When injected into the fat under your chin, KYBELLA causes the destruction of fat cells permanently. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat. After the aesthetic response is achieved, retreatment with KYBELLA is not expected.

What do I do if I gain weight after using Kybella®?

Kybella® permanently reduces the number of fat cells, therefore, if you gain weight, you may gain it in the treated area. However, it’s not likely that you would gain as much if you hadn’t had Kybella® treatments.

Are Kybella® injections painful?

The area is numbed or iced prior to your treatment so you should not feel the needle at the injection site. You will experience mild pain within the first couple hours after treatment, but is tolerable for most. Within the first 24 hours there will be some swelling in the injected area but should subside within 48 hours.

How long is a Kybella® treatment?

Expect the treatment to take about 30 minutes including your numbing time. The actual injections only take a few minutes.

How many Kybella® treatments do I need to see results?

The number of treatments depends on the amount of correction desired. The average series of injections are 1 to 3 treatments with 1 to 2 vials per treatment. You will want to space out at least 6 weeks between injections.
